Obituary of George Ferrara

George Ferrara, age 98, beloved husband of the late Michelina Santella Ferrara, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on March 27, 1927, he was a son of the late Frank and Giuseppina Montanaro Ferrara. A proud U.S. Army veteran, George was a retired employee of the United Illuminating Company. He played a great round of golf and was a life member of Fayerweather Yacht Club where he enjoyed a good game of pool.

George was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He cherished time spent with his family and the unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his four loving children, Janice Ferrara and her husband Roland Levai, George Ferrara and his wife Mary-Jo, Frank Ferrara, and John Ferrara and his partner Catherine Bailey, five cherished grandchildren, Michael Ferrara, Lauren Turenne (Paul), Steven Ferrara, Derek McMorran (Liz) and Lena McMorran, five adored great grandchildren, Alexa, Brayden, Sofia, Harrison and Elyse, a sister Esther Becker, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Victor and three sisters, Phyllis, Michaelina and Jennie.

Relatives and friends can greet the family at a memorial gathering celebrating George's life on Thursday, March 19, 2026 in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
