Obituary of Luisa Antunes Cacote

Luisa Antunes Cacote, age 93, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Manuel Cacote, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Born in Penalonga, Canedo, Portugal on June 3, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Anibal Antunes and Ana Fernandes Antunes.

Luisa immigrated to the United States in 1969, settling in Bridgeport. She was a retired employee of American Fabrics with over 20 years of dedicated service. She had a love for life and always cherished every day. Luisa treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She shared stories of growing up in Portugal and instilled many traditions to her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake and everyone especially loved her Folar.

Survivors include her four devoted daughters, Maria C. Pereira and her husband Augusto, Barbara Cacote, Maria Murphy and her husband James and Teresa Ramos, four adored grandchildren, Jennifer C. Pereira, Tiffany Ramos, Samantha Murphy and Brendan Murphy, two sisters-in-law, Maria Antunes and Ana Reyes, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Domingos Martins Cacote, two brothers, Manuel and Domingos Antunes and a sister, Maria Goncalves.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aids and staff at Northbridge Healthcare for all of their professional care and love given to the family during their time of need.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
