Obituary of Mary Cordone White

Mary Cordone White, age 77, of Fairfield (formerly of Hamden), passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Born in Waterbury on June 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Concetta (Spina) Cordone.

Mary graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in art education and later obtained her master's in early childhood education. She taught for a few years, but her passion was for people as opposed to education itself. Most recently, and until she retired at age 74, she worked as a receptionist for her former church. She loved helping people and providing wise counsel whenever possible.

Mary will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature and the love she shared with those around her. Her faith was extremely important to her, and she spent much of her time reading, studying, and teaching the Bible, often sharing the Gospel with family and friends. She especially cherished time with her grandchildren, enjoying arts and crafts projects with them, traveling around the world, and creating many happy memories together. Mary also had a special talent for interior design and she loved adding her own creative spin to any project, making every space feel warm and welcoming. Simply put, to know Mary was to love her.

Mary leaves behind her two loving children, a daughter, Jessica White, and a son, Geoffrey White and his wife Tanya, and their father, Edward White; two adored grandchildren, Maximilian White and Piper White; a brother, John Cordone and his wife Kathleen; a brother-in-law, William Covino; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Cordone and his wife Cheryl Cordone, and a sister, Antoinette Covino.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at a celebration of Mary's life on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT. A service and family remembrances will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
