Obituary of Roger Harry Wright

Roger Harry Wright, 85, of Stuart Florida passed in the early morning of March 2, 2026.

Roger was born November 4, 1940, in Ware, Massachusetts, to Harry S. and Dorothy L. (Vosburgh) Wright.

He grew up in West Brookfield and later Wilbraham, Massachusetts. He attended Staunton Military Academy in VA, Lakemont Academy in NY, and Fryeburg Academy in ME.

In June of 1952, Roger was baptized in the First Congregational Church of West Brookfield. In his adult years, he chose the Swedenborgian religion but occasionally attended St. Patrick's Church with his wife or Colonial Hills Baptist Church with his children. In October of 1989, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior at First Baptist Church in Hammond, Indiana and got baptized again.

At 17, Roger joined the U. S. Navy to serve our country. He often regaled family with interesting anecdotes about his time on the ship.

Following his honorable discharge, Roger continued his education earning his Associate in Science in Business Administration – Accounting from Mattatuck Community College, Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Connecticut State College, and Masters of Science in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

During his life, Roger was a successful businessman with varied interests and business ventures including robotics, architectural drawing, typesetting, and a landlord.

Roger's pastimes were equally varied including motorcycle racing, skiing, hiking, camping, and swimming. Most of those passions he enjoyed with his family and he passed on that love of adventure to the next generations. He also enjoyed traveling to other countries with his wife, Rosemary. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the dog park with his buddy, Brownie or playing cards and building puzzles with his significant other, Ruth Wintle.

Roger is survived by siblings: Sandra (Barry) Lee, John (Kathy) Wright, Timothy Wright, Barbara Antonetti; children: Joan Mathews, James (Rhonda) Wright; step-children: Kristina Fontaine, Lisa Walker, Sabrina Mancini, Regina Kruger; grandchildren: Hannah (David) DeMoss, Jaina (Steven) Maxwell, Jonathan (Anne) Wright, Charles Romano, Ethan Romano, Megan Kruger, Anika Kruger, Anna Romano; and great grandchildren: Simon DeMoss, Alicia Maxwell, Esther DeMoss, and Allana Maxwell.
