A LOSS is never easy… especially when the person has been so beloved by so many!! I remember my 1st meeting with Frank, when I pulled up in my little British Roadster with my lil pup Sophie & Frank hopped in the car to take it for a test drive, to fully assess any possible mechanical needs. He & the rest of the Spadaro siblings: Santo & Vera in the shop, treated me from that very first day, like I was now part of “Domenick’s” car family. I recall all of the annual big Car Rally events, held at the lovely home off Nanny Hagen Rd in Armonk, featuring his Mom’s famous Italian meatballs! I was fortunate enough to have my older brother from VA, who is no longer with us, attend one such event! He taught me to drive ‘Stick Shift’ in my now, classic 1976 TR6, those many decades ago! It remains, one of my best shared memories with my brother, CARS!! So I can appreciate the family Legacy that Frank embodied of his Dad before him. “DOMENICK’s”has since been my GO TO for all things Classic Car! I even recall the invite to watch the movie RUSH in Port Chester with all the car enthusiasts in attendance!! THANK YOU!!
Frank was ALWAYS KIND, HAPPY, SMILING & very GIVING of himself!! To the entire Spadaro Family, I extend my most SINCERE Condolences for this GREAT Loss to your Family.

I first met Frank at Westchester Community College back in 1977 when my Fiat 128 wouldn’t start in the college parking lot after driving on a rainy day. Frank came over to help and he informed me that the Fiat 128 had designed the engine with the distributor and spark plugs facing the front grill. As a result, when you drove the car in the rain, the spark plug wires and distributor got wet. So Frank suggested that I get a spray can of “Wire Drier” and spray the wires and distributor cap. From that point forward I never had an issue again. I always knew when Frank was at college because he drove a nice red Alfa GTV and sometimes a Fiat Dino. We both ended up at Manhattan College but in different engineering curriculums. I haven’t seen him since until in 2006, when I saw an 1978 Alfa Spider for sale on EBay. The description mentioned that the car was bought and maintained by Dominick’s European Car Repair. I saw the car and liked it . That same day, I stopped by Dominick’s European Car Repair and saw Frank again after 29 years to ask about the car. We began talking as if it was yesterday. Frank mentioned the car used to be Santo’s and if I didn’t buy it, he would buy it back. Of course I bought the car in which our friendship picked up again and I met his brother Santo and sister Venera. Today, I still have the 1978 Alfa Spider which will always remind me of my rekindled friendship with Frank.

Frank was a wonderful person and friend. He was so talented and passionate about the work he did (aka the Alfa Whisperer). He will be greatly missed.

I remember sitting with Frank on his front porch when we were teens and his passion for the blue little British MG GTB he had fully restored at the time. We both agreed that the Alfa gearbox was so much better. Frank took so much pride in his work and treated his cars, friends and family with so much respect. RIP and we pray for your family to heal.
