Obituary of Joann E. Giannino

Joann E. Giannino, age 91, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Giannino. Born in Hazleton, PA on January 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Kudrick) Evanko. Survivors include two loving nieces, Lucille Marottolo (Frank) and Jennifer Giannino (Marty Gibson), two cousins, Ann Miller and Cheri Piascik and a brother-in-law, Michael Giannino. She was predeceased by a brother James Yachem and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Giannino. The family would like thank Enid Nelson for the 2 1/2 years of care the she provided to Joann after her husband's death and the staff at Split Rock for all the care and compassion they extended to Joann during her stay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Arrangements are in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
