Obituary of Helen E. Scala

Helen "Honey" Biro Scala, age 79, of Easton, beloved wife of the late Anthony Patrick "Tig" Scala, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in the comfort of her home. Born in Bridgeport on June 4, 1946 she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Biro. Before her retirement, Honey was a long-time employee of Northrop Grumman. A true animal lover, Honey took great pride in caring for her two horses. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and extended family. Honey was a devout parishioner of Notre Dame Church of Easton. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Rose Marie McKeown and her husband John, and Anna Scala, nieces and nephews, Gina Santamauro, Michael Scala and his wife Judy, Noel Metcalf and her husband Michael, Brian McKeown and Erin McKeown. She was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Sebastian and Joseph Scala and a sister-in-law, Frances Giovanelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 655 Morehouse Rd., Easton. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
