Obituary of Eileen A. Carino
Eileen (Donnelly) Carino, age 71, of Shelton passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 14, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Charles Carino. Born in New Rochelle, NY on November 21, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Donnelly. Eileen held a long, dedicated career as a nurse, spanning over 40 years of service, retiring as the Director of Inpatient Psychiatry at Griffin Hospital.
Eileen was a healer in every sense of the word. She integrated holistic medicine into her life and work, helping implement the Planetree philosophy at Griffin Hospital. She studied and practiced acupuncture, aromatherapy, hypnotherapy, and Reiki, sharing these healing gifts with both her family and her patients.
While Eileen had a wide variety of passions and interests - from yoga and meditation, to pickleball and golf, her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family. Her most treasured role was that of Mimi to her eight precious grandchildren, whom she loved, celebrated and supported in all ways. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. Eileen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her beloved husband Charles of nearly 48 years, other survivors include her cherished children, Katie Rodrigue (Danny) of Shelton, Kelly Sadick (Chris) and Carrie Carino (Brett Rist), both of Fairfield, her adored grandchildren, Charlie, Lainey, Jack, Alex, Henry, Nora, Logan, and Stella, her sisters, Diane Caston (Ed), Linda Morlock (Jim), and Meg Donnelly (Bruce), her brother, Tom Donnelly (Joyce), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathy Ventura.
