Obituary of Barbara A. Napolitano
Barbara Ann (Piccolo) Napolitano, age 85, of Johnston, RI, beloved wife of John Napolitano, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026. Born in Bridgeport on November 1, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Sue (Capuccina) Piccolo. Barbara attended Franklin Elementary School and went to St. John Nepomucene, an all-girls Catholic High School with a two-year curriculum with an emphasis on clerical and accounting studies.
After graduating, Barbara went to work in the accounting department of Acme Shear Company and remained until she left to become a homemaker and mother.
While raising four children Barbara was heavily involved in the PTA, was a Girl Scout Leader, a Den Mother, and kept the children involved in many activities.
Upon re-entering the workforce, Barbara worked for Health-Tex in Cumberland, RI, and was quickly promoted to a managerial position, responsible for large accounts exceeding one million dollars. She remained at Health-Tex until the company closed all its Rhode Island facilities.
Barbara returned to school and received an Associate Degree in Accounting and then worked at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI for many years, retiring from Memorial as Administration Assistant to dual positions of Vice Presidents of Accounting and Administration.
Barbara was an avid reader, liked to travel and very proficient in needlepoint. She gifted many people with her handiwork which adorned the walls of their homes. In her retirement, Barbara spent time in Florida every year and traveled to Hawaii, Italy, England, Mexico, many islands in the Caribbean, including multiple trips to Aruba.
In addition to her husband, John, of 65+ years, survivors include two daughters, Lynn McDonald and her husband, Patrick, and Laura Napolitano; a son, John Napolitano; and two grandchildren, Allison Fleet and her husband, Zachary, and Shaun McDonald, and his wife, Kendall; her great-granddaughter, Charlotte; and great-grandson, Archer.
Barbara was pre-deceased by her daughter, Lisa Marie Napolitano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT.
