Obituary of Iracema Conceicao Ramos

Iracema Conceiçaõ Ramos, age 78, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Agostinho Videira Ramos, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Born on March 8,1947 in Saõ Lourenço, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Jose Guilherme and Luisa da Conceiçao Sobreira.

Iracema immigrated to the United States in 1973, settling in Bridgeport. She worked in various factories as an assembler, working the last 22 years at Bead Industries in Milford before she retired in 2009. She loved to crochet, tend to her garden and cultivate her flowers. She loved sharing her fresh vegetables and cutting bouquets of flowers from her garden to put smiles on people's faces. Her door was always open to all and you can be sure that there was a feast waiting for all to enjoy; no one ever left her home hungry. Iracema poured her love into baking, her paõ de ló and folar was a staple at every family gathering. She was a caring woman and always helped care for the neighborhood children; whether she helped them off the school bus, watched them in the afternoon or just gave a little love and advice. She was a member of the Recordaços de Portugal Folklore Group for many years where she proudly shared her Portuguese heritage. She was also a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

But above all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life guided by love, grace, and quiet strength. She nurtured her family with patience and devotion, always placing their needs above her own. Her family was her greatest joy, and she created a home filled with warmth, laughter and unconditional love. She was dedicated to their care and always provided the best. Iracema was at her best when her grandchildren were by her side and her smile could light the room. Always attending games, recitals and other events that her grandchildren participated in. She beamed with pride watching them. The unconditional love she gave and the values she instilled will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband of 52 years, Agostinho, survivors include her two loving sons, David Ramos and his wife Sandra and Frank Ramos and his wife Christina, four adored grandchildren, Frankie, Nathan, Bella and Jayden, a sister, Lucia Rosa and her husband Acacio, brothers-in-law, Avelino Ramos and his wife Filomena, Delmino Ramos and his wife Matilde and sisters-in-law, Carminda Dias and husband João, Teresa Azevedo, Celeste Azevedo and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Norberto and Herminio Azevedo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
