Obituary of Kimberly Duc Thi Tran
Kim Đức thị (Vương) Trần, age 63, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Trần. Born in Tây Ninh, Vietnam on August 26, 1962, she was a daughter of the late Vương Bửu Đăng and Vỏ thị Kim Sơn. Kim graduated from the University of Bridgeport and later held a long career with Pitney Bowes that spanned nearly 25 years.
Her "green thumb" certainly helped with her love for plants, and she enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and family alike. Kim was a woman of great faith and she practiced that faith as a longtime parishioner of the Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Quasi-Parish at St. Augustine Cathedral in Bridgeport. She built many lasting friendships over the years while being actively involved in various ministries including the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể), Vietnamese language classes (Việt Ngữ), and St. Monica Catholic Mother’s Guild (Hội Các Bà Mẹ). Her greatest enjoyment, however, was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her children, and beloved dog Bojji. A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving children, Ben Trần and Jason Trần, both of Shelton, and Valentina Trần and her husband Tài Nguyễn of Trumbull; her sisters, Đoan (Vương) Lê and her husband Hùng of Melbourne, Australia and Điền (Vương) Ung and her husband Khen of Massachusetts, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends can come pay their respects and greet the family on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 399 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to family members to be donated to the youth group Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể - Têrêsa Hài Đồng Giêsu.
