Obituary of Gaetano DiGirolamo

Gaetano "Toke" DiGirolamo, age 93, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Lucy "Lucy D" Guglielmi DiGirolamo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026 in the West Haven Veterans Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Born in Morrisville, Pennsylvania on September 22, 1932, he was a son of the late Luigi and Theresa DiMatteo DiGirolamo. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Guy served his country with honor and pride.

He took great pleasure in life's familiar comforts and quiet routines. A loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers, he enjoyed following his teams through the years. He loved watching black-and-white Turner Classic Movies, often relaxing in the sun with a cigar in hand, fully content in the moment. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his family, finding his greatest happiness in being surrounded by those he loved.

Survivors include his four loving sons, Gaetano (Guy) DiGirolamo and his wife Dawn DellaRocco DiGirolamo of Ansonia, Mark DiGirolamo of Derby, David DiGirolamo of Monroe and Dino DiGirolamo and his wife Maria of Trumbull; his doting grandchildren, Joseph (JD), David and his wife Marissa, Dino, Dante and Adriana DiGirolamo, a cherished great grandson, Giovanni DiGirolamo, all who will miss spending time with their beloved Poppa. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Marie Ambrosini, sisters-in-law, Selale DiGirolamo and Mary Parisi, brother-in-law, Jack Guglielmi and his wife Janet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Angelo DiGirolamo, Gustavo DiGirolamo, a sister, Theresa DiGirolamo, brothers-in-law, Philip Parisi, Joseph (Bucky) Ambrosini, Tony (Jr) Guglielmi, a niece, Lisa DiGirolamo and nephews, Louis DiGirolamo, and Anthony DiGirolamo.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather to honor Toke's memory on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
