Obituary of William J. Passe
William J. Passe, age 92, of Trumbull, Connecticut and beloved husband of the late Maryann Pagano Passe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Somerville, New Jersey, on May 11, 1933, he was a son of the late Joseph and Illuminatta (Jennie) Castiglione Passe. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cared for and loved his family deeply.
William, "Bill," was a dedicated employee at Johns Manville in New Jersey, Aerosol Techniques, Inc., where he met his lifelong friend, Joe Azevedo, Connecticut Aerosols, Inc., Miles Pharmaceuticals, and Bayer Pharmaceuticals until his retirement in 2000.
Bill was a pillar of strength and commitment to his family. He showed a distinct charisma and resilience that his loved ones admire. His love for his family was steadfast and pure; he and Maryann never missed an opportunity to laugh and share a meal with their family. Bill cherished his close relationship with both of his daughters and truly enjoyed spending time with his sons-in-law, whether it be watching a Yankees game or having a cup of decaf coffee with them after Christmas dinner. Bill, "Poppy", loved watching his grandchildren grow up, whether it be attending their musical performances or basketball games. He cheered on his grandchildren in all their endeavors, especially Carissa and Jessica pursuing their dreams of going to nursing school and Brandon and Victoria going to law school. Bill was known to carry a tune, especially to an oldies song. With this same sense of joy, he carried on Maryann's legacy of prioritizing family and aging with grace.
Survivors include his two loving daughters, Lisa Massaro and her husband Craig of Fairfield and Annette Tara and her husband Hal of Trumbull, his four cherished grandchildren, Carissa Massaro Edwards and her husband Rich, Brandon Massaro and his wife Lindsey, and Victoria and Jessica Tara, his sisters-in-law, Marlane Pagano of Stratford and Italia Pagano of Monroe, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Joseph P. Passe Jr., Frank Passe Sr., Dominick Passe Sr., Nancy Guinta, and Angelina DeAngelo.
