Obituary of John J. Gleason Sr.

John J. Gleason, Sr. of Bridgeport passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 29, 2026 in his home at the age of 64. John was born in Bridgeport on February 19, 1961. He was the youngest son of the late Robert J. and Dorothy (Kilinski) Gleason, Sr. John graduated from Central High School in 1979 and began a dedicated career with Stop and Shop as a grocery manager. John was a humble man whose main passion was his family and he was happiest when surrounded by them, especially his grandchildren whom he adored.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Margaret (Pasacreta), his loving children, Meghan Riccio and her husband Dan, Lauren Larsson and her husband Eric, and John Gleason Jr. and his wife Anne, all of Trumbull, his cherished grandchildren, Daniel III, Isabella, Eric III, Nora, John III (Jack), Fiona, and Evelyn, his sister Laurie Wetmore and her husband Thomas of Fairfield and his brother, Robert Gleason Jr. and his wife Karen of Trumbull, his loyal Maltipoo Bernard, his mother-in-law, Carmela Pasacreta of Trumbull, brother-in-law, Carmine Pasacreta of Trumbull, sister-in-law Elizabeth Scanzillo and her husband Tom of Monroe, and many nieces and nephews all of whom will greatly miss him. He was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Noreen and Charles Kessler, and sister-in-law Laura (Savo) Pasacreta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 12:00 noon in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Farm Burial Ground, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
