Obituary of John F. Mulvihill
John F. Mulvihill, age, 73, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of 43 years to the late Evelyn Ferrando Mulvihill. Born in Danbury on October 8, 1952, John was the son of the late William and Aloise (Heller) Mulvihill and was a longtime Trumbull resident.
A graduate of Immaculate High School in 1970, John went on to graduate Boston College and then New England School of Law in 1977. After private practice, he enjoyed a successful career with Hubbell Inc. for over 30 years where he retired as Assistant General Counsel. He was a dedicated husband, father, and Grandpa. He treasured any time spent with family and friends, especially watching the horseraces, relaxing at the beach, watching any sporting event, and his March Madness trips with Nero. John's greatest joy later in life was spending time with his beloved grandson. He was a welcome fixture on the sidelines at all of his games; a team grandpa. John's involvement with the Knights of Columbus, Racebrook, and the Danbury Old Timers where he was a 2017 Sports inductee were all also very special to him. A man of great faith, John's kindness and values will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. To honor his memory, perform a random act of kindness.
Survivors include his two loving children Kevin Mulvihill of Milford and Catherine (Katie) Nielsen and her husband Jeffrey of Trumbull, a cherished and adored grandson, Trent, and two sisters, Maureen Pennarola (Francis) and Rita Mulvihill (William Oravecz) as well as many nieces and nephews along with their children. John was also blessed to have a uniquely close relationship with his in-laws and their families and treasured being their Poopah.
All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating John's life on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
