Obituary of Geraldine Scanzillo
Geraldine Dennis Scanzillo, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas G. Scanzillo. Born in Bridgeport on June 8, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Charak) Dennis.
Geri was a graduate of Harding High School class of 1954. She later became a clerical typist at the Bridgeport Brass Co. where she played softball for the Brass Bears. She later married Tom and they raised their family in Trumbull. She enjoyed bowling, playing volleyball and pinochle and looked forward to playing Scrabble and Uno with her grandsons.
Geri was a devout catholic and parishioner of St. Stephen Church in Trumbull and was a former member of the Rosary Altar Society. Before her retirement, she worked at Wakeman's Nursery for many years. It was a job she enjoyed, as she loved to be surrounded by plants and flowers and helping people. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband Thomas of 60 years, Geraldine was predeceased by a brother, Michael Dennis, Jr and a sister, Judy Corica. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren and a brother Tom Gill (Carolyn) as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.directly in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Arrangements are in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
