Obituary of Pasqualina Marini

Pasqualina Marini, 92, of Hamden, formerly of Bridgeport, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones, on January 14, 2026, after a long illness with dementia. She was the loving wife of Sebastiano Marini, who predeceased her in 1991. Pasqualina was born on October 3, 1933 in Torrice, Frosinone; Italy to Francesco and lsolina "Rosina" Savo Marini.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria Marini De Stefanis (Giancarlo) and Francesca Marini Ceccorulli (Mark) of Hamden, five grandchildren, Alessandra De Stefanis (Ion Popian), Michael Ceccorulli (Marie Bertrand), Andrew Ceccorulli (Christina), Laura De Stefanis Casement (Christopher), and Carla De Stefanis, and eight great grandchildren, McKayla Ceccorulli, Caleb Ceccorulli, Rowan Ceccorulli, Alessandro Ceccorulli, Raffaella Ceccorulli, Gaetano Ceccorulli, Sebastian Popian and Jesse Casement, a sister-in-law, Francesca Marini, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was predeceased by siblings, Sebastiano Marini (Maria), Fedina Marini (Vincenzo), Alberto Marini (Viola), brothers- and sisters-in-law, Armando Marini (Teresa), Guido Marini (Maria), and Pasquale Marini.

She came to the United States in 1953 and raised her family in Bridgeport. She took numerous trips back to Italy between 1970-2017 with family and friends. Pasqualina worked for many years as a seamstress for Warner's and a machine operator for Remington Shavers both in Bridgeport, and retired in 1996. She volunteered her time for many years, planting and caring for flowers at St. Margaret's Shrine, with her dearest friends Katina and Frank Ventresca and worked at the St. Margaret's festivals and the picnics held at the Scinto corporate office site. Pasqualina loved her family and friends and always looked forward to spending time with them, inviting them to her house, cooking and baking for them, and traveling with them. She loved going on tours, especially to visit shrines and churches. She went on numerous pilgrimages in the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, Italy, Medjugorje, Portugal and Spain. She visited St. Padre Pio's Shrine in Italy and was a member of the St. Pio Society at St. Margaret's Shrine. Pasqualina loved to sew, knit and crochet and gave away many of the things she made, especially her afghans. She loved to garden and plant many flowers, fruits and vegetables; always sharing what she harvested. She had a green thumb and everything from a seed to a small clipping would flourish with her care. She devised her own irrigation system, for indoor plants. Pasqualina's strength, courage and love will be remembered fondly and she will be missed dearly by her loved ones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
