Obituary of Valerie J. Macioce

Valerie (Scalzi) Macioce, age 86, of Naugatuck, beloved wife of 64 years to the late Daniel R. Macioce, Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 with her loving family by her side at St. Mary Hospital, Waterbury. Born in Bridgeport on November 16, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Florence (Maricondo) Scalzi and was a longtime resident of Deltona, FL before coming to Naugatuck.

Valerie loved her family and spending time with them all. She enjoyed reflecting on her life and sharing stories about her life growing up, meeting the love of her life, Danny, and raising her two children Daniel Jr. and Lisa. Valerie had a huge heart and would do anything to be there for her family and friends. Valerie adored her three grandchildren and two great grandchildren and cherished the time she was able to spend with them. She especially enjoyed her retirement in Florida.

Survivors include her two loving children, a son, Daniel R. Macioce Jr. and his wife Cheryl and a daughter, Lisa Cambrelen and her husband George, three cherished grandchildren, Bianca Santos and her husband Dave, George D. Cambrelen, and Daniel E. Macioce, two adored great grandsons, Carter and Benjamin and one brother Daniel Scalzi and his wife Claire of Tarpon Springs, FL as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Daniel, she was predeceased by two brothers, Fred and Benjamin Scalzi and two sisters, Marilyn Iulo and Grace Scalzi. She will be deeply missed by all who love her.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
