Obituary of Pastor Joselito V. Dorvil

Pastor Joselito V. Dorvil ("Toto"), age 61, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, December 21, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Sandra Mars Dorvil, with whom he shared 31 loving years of marriage.

Born on September 25, 1964, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he was the son of Gerard Dorvil and Marie Yvanne Saimbert and a longtime resident of Bridgeport.

Pastor Dorvil answered God's calling to ministry with humility and devotion, dedicating his life to preaching the Word, shepherding God's people, and uplifting those in need. His sermons, prayers, and counsel touched countless lives and left a lasting spiritual legacy. He served with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering faith, always trusting in God's promises.

Above all, Pastor Dorvil was a devoted family man who took great pride in his loved ones. He led by example, teaching the values of faith, integrity, compassion, and perseverance both from the pulpit and at home.

He was a Westhill High School Alumni of 1983. He was a graduate of Columbia Bible College South Carolina, and worked faithfully for 35 years as a bus operator with CT Transit. He served faithfully as a pastor at the French Speaking Bible Church of Norwalk from 1994 to 2011.

Those who knew him will remember his kind heart, gentle spirit, strong leadership, willingness to serve others, and deep love for God and people. His life reflected the words of Scripture: "Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)

In addition to his beloved wife Sandra, Pastor Dorvil is survived by his four loving children: Jeremiah Dorvil and his wife Taylor, Flora-Belle Nyx, Hosea-Zechariah Dorvil, and Martha-Elizabeth Dorvil; and his two cherished grandchildren, Isabella and Lorenzo Dorvil.

He is also survived by his father, Gerard Dorvil, and wife Elisena; his mother, Marie Yvanne Saimbert; his stepmother, Jannette Magloire; and his many siblings and their spouses: Ernise Bruno, Maurice Saimbert, Maricka Saimbert-Perrin, Addley Saimbert, Nathalie Saimbert, Dully Saimbert, Elsie Saimbert, Jasmine Phommachanh, Myrlene Beauvil-Elyse, Weethne Dorvil, Geraldine Dorvil, and Shirley Dorvil, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and friends.

Friends may greet the family on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., directly at Calvary Evangelical Free Church (Lower Church), 498 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow the service at Mountain Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport.
