Obituary of Emily M. Smith

Emily Nespoli Moretti Smith, age 91, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late John Moretti and John D. Smith, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on April 23, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Adeline Pinto Nespoli.

Emily was a woman of deep faith, was active in many catholic parishes in the Bridgeport and Woodbridge areas. Emily enjoyed traveling, was passionate about cooking and was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing delicious home cooked Italian meals and creating a lifetime of memories.

Survivors include her loving children, John Moretti and his wife Karen, David Moretti and his wife Jane and Michele Williams and her husband Jeff, a step daughter Nancy Russo and her husband Marc; nine cherished grandchildren, Alex and Chris Convertito, Joshua Moretti, Kate Villano, Meghan Bartolone, Will and Jack Moretti and Michael Russo and Stephanie Howard; 12 beautiful great grandchildren; a sister Adeline Trentini, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Patsy Nespoli and a sister, Vivian Moretti.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Maefair Health Care, as well as Angelina from Constellation Hospice for the professional care, support and compassion given to Emily and her family during their time of need. Also, a special thank you to Emily's niece Marie, who was a constant source of love, support and ice cream for her Aunt (Meme) and entire family.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
