Obituary of Glenn R. Santoro

Glenn R. Santoro, age 76, of Trumbull, beloved husband and lifelong best friend of Dian Romano Santoro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in the home where he built a lifetime of memories, surrounded by the family he cherished more than anything. Born on December 16, 1948, in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Albert and Antoinette Cisero Santoro, who instilled in him the values of hard work, loyalty, and deep family pride.

Glenn dedicated over 20 years of his life as a Firefighter and Pumper Engineer for the City of Bridgeport, serving his community with courage, humility, and unwavering devotion. One of the defining moments of his career came in 1987, when he and his fellow firefighters responded to the tragic L' Ambiance Plaza collapse. Glenn bravely entered the wreckage and rescued a survivor- a moment that remained close to his heart, and one that came full circle when the individual reached out with a heartfelt call inviting him to his wedding.

A proud man, but especially of his Italian heritage- which he carried like a flame, sharing the stories, traditions, and lessons passed down from his parents and grandparents. He loved reminiscing about being Italian, a fireman, but most importantly always reminding his family to appreciate the simple, beautiful things: a good meal, a tight knit household, and the joy found in everyday moments.

Glenn was a true craftsman at heart. He could build anything- and often did. His home is a testament to his skill, patience, and love: from the cabinets to the woodwork, his hands shaped the spaces his family lived in, creating a home filled not just with his craftsmanship, but with his presence. Outside the home, Glenn found joy in the simple freedom of the open road - riding his motorcycle on a clear day, or later, cruising around town in his sports car with his wife by his side and his loyal dog Frankie. And no matter where he went, he carried the pride of being a die-hard New York Giants fan, cheering them on with the same passion and heart he brought to everything in his life.

Above all, Glenn treasured being a husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the center of his world. He poured his heart into every moment with his grandchildren, cheering them on, guiding them, and loving them without limits. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the stories he shared, and the unconditional love he gave so generously.

In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, Dian, Glenn leaves behind two devoted daughters, Danielle Balado and her husband Robert, and Deana Santoro Dillon and her husband Mike; four adored grandchildren, Gianna DiBello, Mia DiBello, Taylor Balado, and RJ Balado; his treasured great grandson, Justin Potts, his sister, Alana Stoffan; sister-in-law Marlene Martin; and many nephews, and lifelong friends. He also leaves behind his loyal canine companion, Frankie, who stayed right by his side.

Glenn's family would like to thank his nurse Liz for taking such great care of him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 4–7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
