Obituary of Angiolina Cusano
Angiolina (Lee) Cusano, age 96, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Albert J. Cusano Sr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 3, 1929. She was a daughter of the late Vito and Josephine Bochicchio Angiolillo. Before her retirement, she was a Customer Service Representative (CSR) for People’s Bank for over 18 years beginning at Paradise Green in Stratford and retiring from Brookside in Bridgeport. Lee took great pride in her work and enjoyed meeting people, making friends and helping her customers make healthy financial decisions. It was at Brookside that she discovered she could use her ability to speak Italian to the many Italian customers who were never understood because their English was poor. Lee was a leading CSR in selling insurance policies and enjoyed many reward vacations that she earned.
She was a devoted member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Trumbull. She loved attending services and volunteered to assist the church in any capacity. Lee was one of the leaders of the Happy Hearts Club where she enjoyed finding speakers for the meetings. People loved her baking and especially her signature chocolate cake and icing. She was also a volunteer at the Baldwin Senior Center in Stratford for 15 years. Lee was able to share her banking knowledge with many of the seniors.
Above all things, she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dedicated herself to the love and care of her family. She was at her best when surrounded by the love of her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lee built her life of 65 years in her treasured Stratford home. She made every holiday special and invited many to her table. The Memorial Day and Labor Day picnics held significant days in her home, which is still spoken of today with fond memories.
Lee moved to Crosby Commons due to health issues. These were some of her happiest days as she became known as the Mayorett of Crosby. Unfortunately, a stroke changed this and she became a resident of Bishop Wicke for the last 6 ½ years of her life. Her family will be eternally grateful for the loving care she received there. They not only took excellent care of her, they supported her family through each transition. We wish we could name them all, but there are far too many to mention. Every department of Bishop Wicke came to say their tearful goodbyes and embraced our family as their own. They will forever live in our hearts.
Lee gave unconditional love and taught the values of embracing whatever life put before her. She had the greatest gift of acceptance, always making lemonade out of lemons. A gift passed down to everyone she encountered. She will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her three loving children, Al Cusano Jr. and his wife Carmela, Mary Anne Barone and her husband Cliff Sr., and Cathy Hayden and her husband Kevin. Lee had nine cherished grandchildren, Cristina Chase and her husband Ben, Michael Barone, John Barone and his wife Lauren, Cliff Barone and his wife Brialyn, David Barone, Daniel Barone and Patrick, Von and Ellie Hayden. Her two adored great grandchildren, Sage and Levi brought her great joy. She has numerous nieces and nephews along with many friends she considered as family. She was predeceased by her 10 brothers and sisters, Charles, James, and Anthony Angiolillo, Margaret Quattone, Katherine Kisela, Matilda Orticari, Mary Sorrentino, Louise Angiolillo, Theresa Ann DeFilippo, and Ann Marcello.
