Obituary of Douglas B. Seltzer

Douglas B. Seltzer, age 55, of Trumbull passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Joy (Mininger) Seltzer. Born in Mount Kisco, NY on February 12, 1970, he was a son of the late Murray Seltzer and Ida (Lebron) Blotcky of Rochester, NY. Mr. Seltzer had earned his undergrad degree from SUNY Oneonta and his juris doctorate from Quinnipiac University. He later became a self-employed real estate attorney, where he built many friendships throughout the industry over the years. While in college, Doug minored in film and that love for movies transcended throughout his life. He loved and appreciated all music, especially Genesis and the Beatles. He was an avid supporter of all New York athletics, specifically the Jets, Nets and Mets. Doug loved and cared for all animals and stopping in the street to help a turtle cross the road was not uncommon for him. His greatest enjoyment, however, was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his children, whom he adored and were everything to him. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother Ida and beloved wife Joy of 15 years, survivors include his cherished children, Nathaniel “Nate” Seltzer and Eleanor “Ellie” Seltzer, his father and mother-in-law, Mike and Helen Mininger of Florence, AL, his brother, Ken Seltzer of Norwalk and his sister, Leslie Seltzer of Rochester, NY, his sister-in-law, Pam Mininger of Florence, AL, as well as his adored nieces Cassidy, Maya, Emily, Elisabeth, and Rebekah.

Friends may greet the family on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Words of remembrance and eulogies will be shared beginning at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111. For online condolences, please visit us at www.abriola.com.
