Antonio came to the United States in 1976 and through hard work and dedication, in 1982, he opened his own business, TJ's Auto Body and Sales in Bridgeport. His business was his greatest pride. He was a huge part of the Portuguese community in Bridgeport. A member of the Vasco da Gama Portuguese Club in Bridgeport he could often be found watching soccer with family and friends and for a time he played on the club's soccer team. Antonio was known to love a good party; he enjoyed dancing and music and often threw a birthday bash for himself just to get everyone together.
Above everything the most important part of Antonio's life was his family. He adored his wife and cherished all the traveling they did together especially the trips they spent at their home in Florida. Throughout his life he was always there to support his children and adored his grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them every chance he could. Family values and traditions where extremely important to him and he was sure to pass all of that along to his children and grandchildren.
