Obituary of Robert J. Porrazzo

Robert "Bob" John Porrazzo, age 76, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to the late Kathy Ann (Skirka) Porrazzo. Born in New Rochelle, New York, on September 2, 1949 he was the son of the late Peter and Carmalina Testa Porrazzo.

Bob was proud to have completed his undergraduate studies at St. John's University. After obtaining his Masters, he began his 32-year career as a middle school math teacher with the Yonkers Public School System. Over the years he made many long-lasting friendships with colleagues and touched the lives of many students. Bob was an avid New York Mets and New York Jets fan and suffered many disappointing seasons but glad he was able to witness the Jets win a Super Bowl. His other sports passion was horse racing or "the ponies" as he referred to it. He enjoyed going to races at Saratoga or Belmont but also content with making a trip to "the boys" as he called it, rooting for his favorite horses.

In his retirement, he looked forward to dinners with Kathy at their go-to establishments and frequent trips to "the Sun" together. He loved to cook for his family, teaching his kids how to make the perfect baked ziti and chicken cutlet wedge. Bob worked tirelessly, doing anything for his wife and children, his proudest role was Dad. He had a special bond with each of his children, always proud of their accomplishments, even recently becoming Grandpa Bob, adoring his new grandbabies. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is survived by his three children, Ashley Munson (m. David) of Francestown, NH, Melissa Taylor (m. Jeffrey) of Marblehead, MA, and John Porrazzo (m. Marissa) of Southbury, CT, and two cherished grandchildren, Jackson John Porrazzo and Sophie Ann Munson as well as several nieces and nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Peter Porrazzo.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Thursday morning beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
