Obituary of Gary C. Schwarz
Gary C. Schwarz, age 79, of Stratford, beloved husband of Yvonne Duguay Schwarz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born in Kentfield, California on November 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Carl and Virginia Dusch Schwarz. A U.S. Army veteran, Gary was employed as an electrician for the United Illuminating Company and had 34 years of dedicated service before his retirement. He was also a member of the UI softball team. All though an electrician by trade, he was also a talented carpenter, a trait that he inherited from his father. He would often be found working on a project in the house or making something for a family member or friend; and it always had to be done his way! He will always be remembered as a great person, always kind, very outgoing and friend to all. But above all things he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He treasured time with his family. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife of 58 years, Yvonne, survivors include his loving son, Gary Schwarz and his wife Lynn, a daughter, Tracy Grey and her partner Patrick Johnson, a cherished granddaughter, Rachel Farrell, his dear friend John Fitzgerald, as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Joseph Duguay and his wife Valerie and two sisters-in-law, Annette Babin and Alice Mizia.
