Obituary of Henry R. Rydecki

Henry (Hank) Richard Rydecki, SR., 86, of Ocean City, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025 surrounded by his family.  Hank was born on February 17, 1939 in New Britian, CT to the late Andrew and Antoinette Rydecki.  After graduating from high school, Hank proudly served in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic, earning medals for his marksmanship. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Vietnam War.  Hank married Carmai, the love of his life and settled in Trumbull, CT.  He was a longtime volunteer of Trumbull Little League and Trumbull Babe Ruth. Hank was the successful owner of A&A Quality Paving in Monroe CT. Hank was known for his generosity and dedication to his employees, treating them like family. He was a man with strong values which permeated everything he poured his heart into. After 42 years Hank and his wife decided to retire to Ocean City, NJ to enjoy the beach and spend more time with his family. His passions included baking for his family, caring for his wife, and riding his electric bike on the boardwalk. He enjoyed his free time playing golf with his good friends over the years at Tashua Knolls Golf Club and as a proud member of Highland Golf Club in Shelton, CT. He was also a very active member of the VFW Post 6650 in Ocean City, NJ.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years Carmai Rydecki, son Kevin Rydecki and his wife Ashley of Trumbull, CT, son Richard Rydecki and his wife Lindsay of Madison, WI and son Henry R. Rydecki, II and his wife Melissa of St. Augustine, FL and grandchildren: Collin, Ryan, Elise, Dexter, Henry III, Gianna and Evangeline.  He is predeceased by his sister Jean May of Las Vegas, NV.   

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull.  Inurnment with full military honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.  Friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
