Obituary of Alice M. Targowski

Alice Mary Fazekas Targowski , 78, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 6. Born in Bridgeport to Ilona & Steven Fazekas, Alice spent much of her life in Fairfield before moving to Trumbull in her later years.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry Targowski, her lifelong partner and best friend. Together, they built a life centered on family, love and tradition.

Alice was a lover of art, teaching ceramics out of her home for many years in Fairfield. She was an avid volunteer from her early work with the Easter Seals to her recent work with Yale New Haven’s PFAC. She was an avid supporter of both the Trumbull and Fairfield Senior centers and made many friends and memories along the way.

Her greatest joy came from her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. You could always find Alice on the sidelines watching sporting events and other school activities supporting her grandchildren and that support even extended recently to her grand nieces and nephews. A talented baker, she took great joy in sharing her homemade Hungarian pastries and cookies with friends and family. So many special times spent at her home on Mayfair Road in Fairfield, where you would find her ready to welcome any family and friends that would walk through the door. 

Alice will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in every piece of art she created, every recipe she shared, and every heart she touched.

Alice is survived by her five loving children: Edward Targowski (Rita) of Shelton; James Targowski (Kelly) of Trumbull; Joseph Targowski (Melissa) of Westport; Julie Raecek (Jonathan) of Frisco, TX; and Brian Owen (Tracy) of Katy, TX. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will carry forward her love, laughter, and creativity.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with Henry and that her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
