Obituary of Ronald L. Burroughs

Ronald L. Burroughs, age 72, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Teresa Latorre. Born in Manhattan, New York on September 15, 1953, he was the son of the late Fred and Annie Hicks Burroughs and was also lovingly raised by his step-father, Joseph Gadson. Mr. Burroughs had been employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health Services as a case manager with over 28 years of dedicated service. He had also been employed privately for nearly 25 years in the same capacity. Ron was an avid computer gamer, a trait that he has passed on to all his grandchildren, and he was also a huge fan of WWE wrestling. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Teresa of 30 years, other survivors include his son, Luis Cruz and his wife Jennifer Vidal of Trumbull, his cherished grandchildren, Maryah Vidal, Melydee Cruz and Mason Cruz, his sister Bettie Burke of South Carolina, his brothers, Joe Gadson of Texas and Mike Hicks of Bridgeport, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Burial will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
