Obituary of Joseph P. Spataro

Joseph P. Spataro, age 76, of Shelton and Bonita Springs, FL, beloved husband of Susan Boes Spataro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 10, 1949 in Bridgeport he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Virginia Ceccorulli.

Joe had an adventurous spirit early on when he joined the Navy after high school and his love for life and travel only grew from there! He visited several countries around the world and climbed not one, not two, but three mountains! Joe founded Alliance Heating and Air Conditioning at 30 years old with his partner, Charlie, in his mother in laws garage. He retired there at 62.

Joe was a man of tremendous talent and was always willing to teach, be a mentor and share his wealth of knowledge. Joe had several hobbies throughout his life including restoring classic cars, playing the saxophone, fishing, kayaking and sailing just to name a few. Joe would do absolutely anything for his family and loved with his whole heart.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Susan, he is survived by his brothers Ron Spataro and his wife Connie, of Bonita Springs, Fl, Michael Marchell of Zellwood, Fl, daughter Carlye Calo of Shelton, son Joseph Spataro and his wife Danielle Spataro of Fairfield, CT, and four grandsons; Joseph and Chris Calo of Wilton, CT and Joseph and Alec Spataro of Fairfield, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Joseph's Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
