Obituary of Jack R. Cutting
Jack Robert Cutting, aged 91, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Joan Margaret Cutting died peacefully on Friday, October 17th, 2025. Born in London, England on November 14th, 1933, he was the youngest son of the late Reginald William Cutting and Lillian May Mack. Jack was a Trumbull resident since emigrating with his family to the USA in 1969.
Jack was an avid golfer and bowler and a member of the Tashua Knolls Senior Men's Golf League. He and his wife Joan would regularly travel the East coast to play with other members of the Tashua golfing couples club. He lived for soccer, especially his beloved Arsenal. He also enjoyed playing for the Milford Tuesday night soccer team. As an accomplished painter, Jack liked working with oils and charcoal. It wasn't uncommon for him to take a page out of a National Geographic and paint it to perfection. To unwind, Jack enjoyed playing darts, drinking a fine scotch whiskey and the occasional cigar.
Jack earned an advanced electrical engineering degree at Watford Technical College while employed in England and was recruited for employment by Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut. He was instrumental in managing and supporting teams to design and test various electrical power generation and distribution systems for the Army Black Hawk and Navy Seahawk helicopters. He retired from Sikorsky in 1996 after 27 years of dedicated service.
In addition to his wife Joan of 69 years, he is survived by his four loving children; Dr. Garry Cutting and his wife Maureen, Michael Cutting and his late wife Kathleen, Jacqueline Cutting-Smith and her husband Dawnald, and Anthony Cutting; seven loving grandchildren, Melissa Shaink and her husband Nicholas, Dr. Andrew Cutting and his wife Melissa, Allison Cutting and her husband Ray, Elizabeth Coale and husband Dr. Max Coale, Nathanial Cutting and his wife Dr. Amanda Cutting, Rebecca Smith and Devon Smith; nine great-grandchildren, Klara, Kierstyn and Khloe Shaink; Colbie and Tessa Cutting; Graham and Caroline Egger; Oliver and Sullivan Coale and by a nephew who he loved like a son, Stephen Cutting and his wife Min and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, sisters Vera, Joan, and Sally and brothers Reginald, Albert, Kenneth, and Ronald, as well his grandson Daniel Lance and his daughter-in-law Kathleen Quigley Cutting.
