Obituary of Theresa Roseann Peeso Zullo

Theresa Roseann Peeso Zullo, age 87, of Southbury, CT, and formerly of Stratford, CT, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on June 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Peeso and Josephine (Josie) Sorrentino Peeso. After raising her daughters into their teenage years, Theresa (Terry) earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Sacred Heart University at the age of 44, which was a proud moment for her and for her four daughters. Before her retirement, Theresa was an Intake Officer for the Connecticut State Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, with over 15 years of dedicated service. Theresa came out of retirement to work at New England School of Montessori in Milford, CT. For four years, 'Miss Terry' was well-loved by staff, students, and their parents. Theresa was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother, affectionately known as 'Nana'. She often sacrificed her own needs and wants to provide the best for her family. She was dedicated to supporting her children and grandchildren with her interest in their lives and her enthusiasm for their endeavors, she overflowed with love for each one. The strong values that she instilled and the unconditional love she gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed. In her later years, she was well-cared for by the nursing staff at River Glen Healthcare Center. Many Nursing Assistants and her dedicated nurses, especially Sunny (Sumnee) and Alex, both of whom she dearly loved. Survivors include her four loving daughters, Lisa Bredice of Seymour, CT, Maria Zullo of Oxford, CT, Amy Sonderman and her husband, Michael of Ridgefield, CT, and Joann Mieczakowski of West Palm Beach, FL. Terry was Nana to 11 adored grandchildren, Tyler, Evan, and Carleigh Bredice, Nicolas and Leo Sidelinger, Oliver and Piper Sonderman, and Roman, Zachary, Mia, and Josie Mieczakowski, her brother Thomas Peeso, her niece Deborah Peeso-Demulling of MN, and her nephew Kevin Peeso of VA, as well as many, many cousins from the Sorrentino and Peeso families. Her beloved son-in-law, David Bredice, predeceased her. Relatives and friends are invited to a 'Celebration of Theresa's Life' on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT. A prayer service will take place at 12:45 pm in the funeral home.
