Obituary of Martha E. Mech

Martha E. Busky Mech, age 90, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025 in the comfort of her home. Born in Baltimore, MD on January 29, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Eloise Long Busky. Martha was a retired LPN having worked for the former Jewish Home for the Elderly for many years. She was also formerly employed by Bryant Electric and Sikorsky Aircraft. A devout catholic, she was a long-time and dedicated parishioner of St. Augustine Cathedral. She was an amazing cook and her door was always open to her many neighbors and friends to enjoy a meal. Stuffed cabbage, lasagna and rice pudding were her favorites! Martha loved to feed everyone and everyone in the neighborhood loved "Mrs. Mech." But above all she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The values she taught and the unconditional love she gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Martha was predeceased by her siblings, Edmund and Michael Busky, MaryJane Busky Bond, her beloved son Robert Mech, great grandson Dillon Stuck and her former husband and friend Leonard J. Mech. Survivors include her five loving children, Helen Tronkowski and her partner Stuart Bishop, Lanette Twombly and her husband Don, John Mech and his partner Carmen Belco, Joseph Mech and his wife Jean and David Mech and dear friend Suzie Canal, four cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Leandra, Matthew and Linda, four adored great grandchildren, Zachary, Millie, Walter and Warren, as well as several nieces and nephews, The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Delaine Hall for all of the professional care and love shown to Martha over the last several years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Augustine Cathedral, 399 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in the Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
