Obituary of Marie M. Murgatroyd

Marie M. (Puglio) Murgatroyd, age 82, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Arnold R. Murgatroyd. Born in Bridgeport on November 9, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Pasqual and Jennie (Paraspolo) Puglio.

Marie was a lifelong Trumbull resident.  She shared many wonderful childhood stories growing up in Trumbull.  Marie had been employed by Black & Decker as a claims manager for many years before her retirement and made many friendships along the way. Marie was an avid scrapbooker.  The scrapbooks that she created for her grandchildren were her prized possessions and they will be treasured forever.  

The beach was her happy place where she spent many hours with family and friends, shelling, reading and enjoying the ocean.  Marie had a love of plants and animals, especially her cat Sparky.   She enjoyed watching the birds and one particular chipmunk outside her window.  A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children, Dawn Larson and her husband Jeff, Melissa McFadden and her husband Michael and Michael Murgatroyd and his wife Debra, her adored grandchildren, Madeline and Michael Murgatroyd, Jr.  She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Puglio.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
