Obituary of Joseph R. Mucherino

Joseph R. Mucherino, age 88, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Judith Iacovelli, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on March 20, 1937 he was a son of the late Louis and Jennie Puglio Mucherino.

Joe was formerly employed by Fairfield Scrap, B&D Trucking and along with his brother Nicholas, they established Mucherino Brothers Trucking in 1970 and operated the business until their retirement in 2004.

In his younger days he was a rodeo bareback bull rider. Joe was a judge for RR Rodeo and was the owner of PBR Bulls along with Sonny Williams and J Bar W Ranch. Together with his wife Judy, they operated Valley Farm Drive-In in Bridgeport and today is still proudly run by the family.

But above all things in life, his greatest role was husband, father and grandfather. He loved time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. When they were together Joe would have the biggest smile and enjoy the memories they were creating, The values he taught and unconditional love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 23 years, Judy, survivors include his three loving daughters, Karrie Mucherino, Tiffany Viglione and her husband Joseph and Tara Arsenault and her husband Ryan, seven cherished grandchildren, Marisa Mucherino (Orville), Jacee Cotto Piccirillo (Garrett), Sydney Cotto (Sam), Isabel Viglione, Max Viglione, Jake Viglione and Rylee Arsenault, four adored great grandchildren, Gianna and Aedan Kennedy and Eliana and Joseph Piccirillo, sister-in-law, Ann Carol Mucherino of Virginia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings Ralph, Dominic, Louis, Patsy, Robert, Pete and Nicholas Mucherino, Jennie Pelletier, Dorothy DiBiase and Marie Wade.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT.
