Obituary of Gregory Caruso
Gregory M. Caruso, age 64, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Janice (Bakalar) Caruso. Born in Bridgeport on December 14, 1960 he was a son of Caterina (Cardamone) Caruso of Stratford and the late Philip Caruso. He was a graduate of Bunnell High School and obtained his bachelor's degree in Finance from Sacred Heart University. He worked in sales and landscaping.
Greg's biggest pride and joy was his "Baby Bella" and "Best Buddy". Greg loved playing and watching sports especially soccer, baseball, football, basketball and racquetball and loved UConn basketball and the Yankees and Cowboys. He was meticulous in maintaining his yard and a huge garden every year with his mom. A loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend of so many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother Caterina and beloved wife Janice of 30 years, other survivors include his loving children, Michael and Kelly Caruso, his brothers, Leonardo and Antonio Caruso, sisters and brothers-in-law, Jayne (Bakalar) and Gary Laforge, Cathy (Bakalar) and David Guffey, Karen (Bakalar) Bartomioli and many nieces and nephews and cousins, George Caruso, Gina Caruso, Joanne (Caruso) Sarandrea and many others in Calabria, Italy. He was predeceased by his twin brother Frank Caruso.
Funeral Sevices will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home.
