When I think of you, Mr. Marini, I think of the way you smiled at everyone you loved, and so they knew how very much you loved them. And I am so grateful that you looked at my own children that way. When I think of you I think of how you always wanted to help your family, and build things, and fix things, and grow things. I think of fig trees, and of course your wine (and therefore wine cookies!). I picture you so clearly sitting with family at Fran and Dave's gatherings, sitting, watching, smiling, drinking it all in, quiet strength, kind loving smiles, watching your grandchildren with such complete happiness and joy on your face. I will miss seeing that so much, but I will also hold onto the memory of your welcoming hugs and your watchful gaze, and your quiet smiles that spoke volumes of love. Thank you for sharing your care and love with all of us.
