Obituary of Joseph Farrugia
Joseph Farrugia, 80, of Monroe, CT, was welcomed peacefully into the hands of Our Lord on September 3, 2025, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was born March 7, 1945, in Tarxien, Malta to the late Andrew and Josephina Farrugia. Joe immigrated to the United States in 1951 at the age of 6. He enrolled at JM Wright Technical School at the age of 14 and went on to earn his certification as a Mechanical Draftsman, a profession in which he exceled for many years.
Joe enjoyed bowling, woodworking, classic cars, engineering, puzzles, gardening, old movies, and the New York Yankees. He was extremely proud of his Maltese heritage and had a strong faith in Our Lord. His selflessness and passion for serving others will live on in our hearts forever.
Joseph touched the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by a loving family, including his wife of 20 years, Linda Rose, his children, Christine Farrugia and her children Luke, Lina, and Georgia, Linda Farrugia (Kevin) and their children Abigal and Hannah, his stepchildren Jean Marie Priscott (Nicholas) and their children Katie and Owen, Michael McCormick (Casey) and their children Connor and Madison. Joseph is also survived by his sister, Connie Farrugia, along with many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is predeceased by his sisters Angelina Scully and Mary O'Connor.
Visitation for family and friends will be offered at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT 06611 on Wednesday, September 10th from 4-7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Parish Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468.
Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611.
