Obituary of Luisa P. Senese
Luisa (Pettinella) Senese, age 81, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Richard P. Senese. Luisa was born in Tocco da Casauria, Province of Pescara, Italy on March 1, 1944, daughter of the late Luciano and Caterina (Lina) Pettinella. Luisa had been employed by the Jewish Home as head laundress before her retirement with over 25 years of dedicated service. She loved cooking for her family and was meticulous in tending to her garden, which always produced an abundance of fresh vegetables that she shared with family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and her creations will be fondly remembered by those lucky enough to have been gifted with them. Luisa was a woman of great faith and clearly evident as a longtime active parishioner of Christ the King Church, where she built many friendships over the years. Her greatest enjoyment however, was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her beloved husband Richard of nearly 62 years, other survivors include her devoted daughters, Linda Dzurenda of Shelton, Carmela Valentina Senese of Trumbull and Andrea Palmieri and her husband Alfonso of Shelton, her cherished grandchildren, Jonathan, Sarah, Thomas, Alina and Alfonso G., her sisters, Maria Martino and Donata Ciuffreda and her brother, Federico Pettinella, all of Italy, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Ida Lupone and brothers, Angelo and Anthony Pettinella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull.
