Obituary of Joann Carol Carbone

Joann Carol (Esposito) Carbone, age 82, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on August 12, 2025. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rose (Smerglinolo) Esposito, and the widow of Joseph Thomas Carbone Jr.

She is survived by her daughters: Doreen Ronca and her husband James of Cape Coral, FL; Dina Sienkiewicz and her fiancé Steven Raymond of Easton, CT; Dawn Groballi and her husband Edmund of Southbury, CT; and son-in-law Vincent Sienkiewicz of Woodbury, CT. She leaves behind two brothers: Carl Esposito Sr. and his wife Linda of Potsdam, NY, and Richard Esposito and his wife Joann of Derby, CT. She also leaves behind her oldest and dearest friend, Stephanie Leko.

In addition to her husband, Joann is predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Esposito Jr., and Anthony Esposito; sister-in-law Sandra Hubbard-Esposito; her son-in-law Michael Pellegrino; and her nephew Carl Esposito Jr.

Joann graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport, CT, and was a long-time resident of Trumbull, CT. She worked as a Claims Representative at General Accident and One Beacon Insurance before retiring to Cape Coral, FL. Joann enjoyed reading and cooking, but her true passion was politics and world events.

Her greatest pride was her three grandchildren: Enea Cibuku of Brookfield, CT; Michael Pellegrino of Cape Coral, FL; and Dr. Danielle Sienkiewicz of Southington, CT. She also cherished her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A church service will be held on September 29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church in Trumbull, CT. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL for their exceptional care and support.
