As many (if not all) of you know about Vinny’s passion for golf. When I was in middle school, Mr. Gentile was one of my teachers. As a boy, my hair was SOO blond that Mr. Gentile nicknamed me “The Golden Bear” after one of his idles, Arnold Palmer. Even as adults, whenever I saw him at family gatherings, he’d always say, “There he is, The Golden Bear”. I’ve always been fond of that nickname and Mr.Gentile. He also had a great smile, laugh, and sense of humor. I will miss him.

Jane and Michael Hayes are saddened by the loss of their good friend Vinny. Their friendship began almost 50 years ago when Jane met Vinny's wife Mary at a classroom in Stepney Elementary School in Monroe CT. The 4 friends vacationed together, golfed together, dined out, attended family functions and parties. Jane and Michael even purchased a home at Countryside G&CC in Naples FL to be near their friends, and enjoy more good times together. There was always lots of laughter with the group. Now we will have Mary's friendship to cherish, but still miss our dear friend Vinny.
