Obituary of Domingos Goncalves

Domingos Garcia Goncalves, age 60, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Norwalk Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Curros, Boticas, Portugal on March 25, 1965, he was a son of the late Americo Goncalves Ferreira and Gloria DeJesus Garcia and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Domingos emigrated to the United States in 1992 along with his family and settled in the hollow of Bridgeport before moving to Trumbull to live with his sister, Aline and his brother-in-law Tony who was like a brother to him after over 40 years of friendship. Domingos worked in construction for many years and when not working he enjoyed going to the Vasco De Gama Portuguese Club in Bridgeport to catch up with his friends and watch some soccer but his greatest joy came from spending time with family, especially with his nieces and nephews. His work ethic, generosity and traditional values will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his four loving siblings, Armando Goncalves Ferreira, Alfredo Garcia Ferreira, Antonio Garcia Ferreira and Aline Ferreira Goncalves and her husband Antonio with whom he resided. He also leaves his nieces and a nephew, Simone Ferreira Goncalves, Cristina Ferreria Goncalves and Alexander Ferreira Goncalves as well as many other nieces and nephews in the United States, Portugal and France. He was predeceased by a brother, Jose Goncalves Ferreira.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 465 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
