Obituary of Claire Maria Fisher

Claire Maria Keller Fisher, age 79, of Trumbull, beloved wife of William Fisher, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bütschwil, Switzerland, on May 10, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Olga Muller Keller.

Claire immigrated to the United States as a young woman, the only member of her family to leave Switzerland. She bravely embraced a new life with strength and determination. She devoted herself fully to raising her family and took great pride in her role as a "Domestic Engineer." Her home and property were always immaculate, with not a single weed or fallen leaf ever overlooked. Her love of gardening brought beauty and care to every part of her surroundings. Claire also enjoyed long walks with her beloved dog, Rozzie, and found true joy in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Wherever she went, Claire loved to talk to people, always showing genuine care and kindness. Many friendships she formed from a single meeting grew into lifelong bonds.

Claire was a beautiful woman with a strong sense of style. She always dressed in the latest fashion, but with an eclectic and personal flair that was distinctly her own. Her elegance and confidence shone through in every outfit she wore, reflecting both her creativity and individuality. Favorite clothing and jewelry of Claire's have been lovingly passed down to her grandchildren, who wear them proudly and cherish them as tangible reminders of her vibrant spirit.

When her sons were young, Claire fully embraced the role of hockey mom. She managed the busy schedule of getting all three boys to and from practices and games, often traveling to tournaments as far away as Canada. These years were filled with energy, love, and countless memories that she treasured.

Claire was also a passionate and proud Swatch collector, amassing a remarkable collection of thousands of watches. As a Gold Member of the Swatch Club, she became affectionately known as the "Swatch Lady," a title she embraced so fully that even her car bore a personalized license plate with the name. She traveled with her sons to Swatch Club events across the United States and Europe, forming friendships with fellow collectors and delighting in each new addition to her collection. Her enthusiasm, eye for detail, and vibrant spirit made her unforgettable to everyone she met.

In addition to her love of fashion and design, Claire and her husband shared a deep appreciation for antiques, especially clocks. They spent countless weekends together exploring antique shows throughout New York City, Warwick, Nyack, and many other towns across New York and New Jersey, always in search of unique treasures and timeless pieces.

Claire was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Nothing brought her more happiness than having her loved ones gathered together, especially when her grandchildren were by her side. Her unwavering love and nurturing spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband of 56 years, William, Claire is survived by her three loving sons: William Fisher and his wife Claudine, Thomas Fisher and his wife Shane, and Charles Fisher. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Beth, Morgan, Emma, Aidan, Robert, Sarah, CJ, Emma, and Ines. Survivors also include her two brothers, Karl Keller and Gerhard Keller; two sisters, Verena Bougrava and Margaretha Dillman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Agnes Keller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM, meeting directly at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4–7 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
