Obituary of Theresa A. Santossio
Theresa A. Santossio, age 94, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Gene Santossio Sr. Born in Meriden on October 26, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Josephine (Nadile) Prigitano. Theresa was a woman of great faith and practiced that faith as a longtime parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Trumbull. Cooking, caring and providing for her family was the center of Theresa's life. She always put the needs of others before her own and was happiest when surrounded by her family. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her devoted children, Donna Lonsdale and her husband Wayne of Ansonia, Gene Santossio Jr. and his wife Cathy, also of Ansonia, Nina Santossio of Bridgeport, Rose Brown and her husband Kevin of Shelton and Diana Davis and her husband Jeff, also of Shelton, her cherished grandchildren, Gene Santossio III and his fiancé Danielle Cyr, Gabriel, Troy and Kerry Brown, and Tyler Davis and his wife Lauren, Joseph and Dominick Davis. Her adored great grandson, Kaden Brown as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Gene of 49 years, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Frank and Rocco Prigitano and her sisters, Marge Besek, Rose Mastrianni, Evelyn Marchetti and Sr. Maryanna Prigitano. The family would like to express their gratitude to Theresa's caretaker Lucy as well as the staff at Visiting Angels and Constellation Healthcare for their support, kindness and dedication during her final months.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. To leave an online condolence, please visit us at www.abriola.com.
