Obituary of Marco S. Scaccia

Beloved son, brother, fiancé, father, and friend

Marco Scaccia, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, resilience, and deep devotion to his family.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Marco was the proud son of Tomassina and the late Giuseppe Scaccia, who immigrated to the United States in the 1960s to create a better life for their family. He attended Kolbe Cathedral High School and went on to serve our country with strength and honor as a United States Marine, completing rigorous training and carrying that discipline with him throughout his life.

His loving fiancée, Christine Moussavian, survives Marco; his devoted children, Sabrina and MarcAnthony Scaccia; and his cherished stepchildren, Nicholas and Monica Moussavian. He also leaves behind his mother, Tomassina Scaccia; his brothers, Dino Scaccia and his wife Tina, of Trumbull, CT, and Elvis Scaccia and his wife Marie, of Bridgeport, CT; many adored nieces; and an extended circle of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Family was the center of Marco's world. He was proud of his Italian heritage, where he came from, and the people who stood beside him through life's challenges. A natural protector, Marco found comfort and purpose in looking after the people he loved. He had a tough exterior, always telling it like it was, but beneath it lived a heart full of fierce love and loyalty.

From a young age, Marco was taught the craft of masonry by his father, a fellow mason. That craft became his art, his passion, and his pride. His skilled hands left behind marks of his work throughout the state of Connecticut. These are quiet but powerful reminders of the legacy he built one brick at a time.

He was also a lifelong, hardcore Pittsburgh Steelers fan, watching every game with unwavering loyalty, no matter the season record. His love for the team was just another reflection of his fierce sense of dedication.

He faced many hardships with quiet strength, always showing up for those he cared about. Marco's sense of humor, strong will, and ability to make people feel safe will be remembered always.

He will also be deeply missed by his loyal dog and best friend, Frankie, who never left his side.

Marco was a good man with hard luck, but he never stopped fighting. In the end, he reminded us that what matters most is showing up for your family, your people, and the life you've built. His love, his lessons, and his presence will be carried forward by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 am meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 4-7 pm in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
