Obituary of Donna L. Teixeira
Donna Hammill Teixeira, age 66, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Edward Teixeira, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025 in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on March 19, 1959, she was a daughter of the late John (Jack) and Edna Secor Hammill. Donna was a retired employee of Fairfield University, having worked in Custodial Services with over 20 years of dedicated service.
Donna enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed spending time at Seaside Park Beach and being around family pretending she knew how to use her phone drinking coffee and her friends. Her greatest joy in life was her children and she was never so happy on the day she became a grandmother. Her smile would light the room when her grandson was by her side.
Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. The unconditional love she gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be truly missed by all.
In addition to her husband of 43 years, Edward, survivors include her three cherished children, Christopher Teixeira, Matthew Teixeira and Kristy Teixeira, her adored grandson, Noah Mason Teixeira, brother and sisters; Robert Hammill and his wife, Elsie, Patricia Saja and her husband, Robert, Linda Carr and her husband, Joseph, Jody Hammill Ojeda, Karen Varney and her husband, Glenn and Kathleen Hammill, sister-in-law, Joanne Hammill, brother-in-law, Gilberto Jimenez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by a brother, Gary E. Hammill Sr., three sisters, Christine Molina, Carol Hammill, and Virginia Jimenez, a niece, Sara Ojeda, father and mother-in-law, John and Marcelina Teixeira, brothers and sisters-in-law, John, Albert and Ronald Teixeira and Linda Ruzbarsky.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. directly in the Cathedral of St. Augustine, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
