Obituary of Alberto Parravano
Alberto Parravano, age 94, of Stratford, beloved husband of Vincenza Posta Parravano, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born on January 29, 1931 in Pontecorvo, Frosinone, Italy, he was a son of the late Alessandro and Vincenza Sardelli Parravano. A veteran of the Italian Army, he immigrated to the United States in 1959. Upon his arrival in the U.S., he began his working career a baker with Ann's Newfield Bakery and Luigi's Bakery. After his time at the bakeries, he went on to work for Bic Pen for many years before his retirement.
Alberto was a recipient of the Stratford Beautification Award and could often be found at tending to the landscaping of his home and his wonderful garden. He would always share the fruits of his labor with many families and friends. He enjoyed reading, photography, wine making and sharing many of his Italian traditions with his grandchildren. A strong believer in education and the American Dream, Alberto instilled strong values to his family and believed that hard-work and dedication was very important.
But above all things he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his great grandson, creating memories to last a life-time. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Alberto will be deeply missed.
In addition to his beloved wife of 68 years, Vincenza, survivors include his two loving children, Laura Busser and her husband Charles of Trumbull and Sandro Parravano and his wife Rosa of Shelton, four cherished grandchildren, Lauren Busser & her fiancé Mandi German, Michael Busser & his wife Brittany, Nicholas Parravano (Amber) and Steven Parravano (Erika), an adored great grandson, Michael Charles Busser Jr., a brother, Osvaldo Parravano and his wife Theresa and a sister Laura Russo, all of Italy.
He also leaves to cherish his memory brother and sisters-in-law, Antoinetta Parravano, Anna Sardelli, Jean DiCocco, Tomassina Posta, Jackie Posta, Linda Posta and Anthony Andrzejewski, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many relatives in the U.S. and Italy.
He was predeceased by a brother, Armando Parravano, a sister, Ada Buonanno, brothers and sisters-in-law, Luigi Buonanno, Paul Russo, Joseph Posta, Alfred Posta, Albert Posta, Dina Rubbo, Theresa Andrzejewski, Luigi Sardelli, Diulio DiCocco and Umberto Rubbo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
