Obituary of Dianne Parkes
Dianne West Parkes, age 52, of Shelton, beloved wife of Sean F. Parkes, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 20, 1972 in Rockville Center, Long Island, New York, she was a daughter of Kathleen West and the late Paul West. Dianne graduated in 1994 from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and worked in New York City as a Merchandise Assistant in the Men's Collections for Federated Merchandising Group. She then worked for several years as the Retail Product Manager for Best Friends Total Pet Care before transitioning to running a home daycare. In 2011, she returned to work outside of the home, and most recently was employed by Budderfly Inc. in the accounts payable department.
Dianne was an avid music fan who loved spending time with family and friends and vacationing in Woodstock, VT and Bethany Beach, DE. She will be remembered most for her radiant smile, calming presence, and fantastic sense of humor.
In addition to her beloved husband of 26 years, Sean, and her mother, Kathleen, survivors include her three adoring children, Emma, Greta and Jack, two loving sisters, Kristine Komorowski (James) and Danielle Norris (Michael), brothers and sister-in-law, Christopher Parkes, Mary Takacs (Michael) and Timothy Parkes (Jennifer), nieces, Kelly, Jessica (Matt), Haley, Carolyn, and Brianna, as well as many dear friends and colleagues. In addition to her father Paul, Dianne was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Georgeann Parkes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 10 a.m. directly in St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
