Obituary of Louis A. Lorenzo
Louis Andrew Lorenzo, 87, of Derby, CT, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025. Born in Kearney, New Jersey, on October 10, 1937, Lou was a proud Marine, a master glazer, a devoted family man, and a quiet force of love and loyalty.
He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia “Patty” Lorenzo, his partner in life for over 61 wonderful years. Their bond was one of true love, deep friendship, and unwavering devotion.
Louis was predeceased by his parents, John and Adeline “Dolly” Lorenzo, and by his twin siblings, Madeline “Cookie” and John “Butch.”
He leaves behind five children who cherished him deeply—and who each inherited a different version of his stubborn streak and sharp wit: Louis Jr. and wife Laura of Stratford, Lenore of Derby, Dollene and husband Chris Morris of Inverness, FL, Deana of Ansonia, and Patrick and wife Diana of Shelton.
Louis was a proud grandfather to 12 and great-grandfather to 11, with two more on the way. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, including his sister-in-law Theresa Albenando Petrone, many beloved nieces and nephews, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him and calling him a friend.
Louis graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport, CT, and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he embraced the values of discipline and duty that stayed with him for life. A longtime member of the Elks Lodge and the Marchegian Club, he spent decades perfecting his work as a master glazer at Westport Glass—but he’d tell you his greatest masterpiece wasn’t something he built with his hands, but the family he built with his heart.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: beach walks, card games with friends, trips to the casino, and strong coffee paired with an episode (or five) of Law & Order or NCIS.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford. There will be no calling hours—Louis appreciated simplicity and quiet dignity.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org), an organization close to the family’s heart.
Louis leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Semper Fi, Dad.
