Obituary of Emily C. Cantafio
Emily C. Cantafio, age 88, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Ludlowe Health Care Center, Fairfield surrounded by family. Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late John and Celia Kopsco Karabinos, and was raised in Westport and Fairfield. A woman of great faith, Emily was an active member at St. Theresa Church where she volunteered as a catechism teacher. She also served as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She began working at Zell in Norwalk then after raising her family she had been employed at New England Fire Equipment, volunteered for FISH and was a member of The Baldwin Center in Stratford.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Cantafio and his wife Dawn, two daughters, Lori D'Amico and her husband Michael and Karen Feehan and her husband James, a sister, Nancy Karabinos, a brother, John Karabinos lll and his wife Miryam and 7 grandchildren: Cayla Cantafio, Nicholas Cantafio, Brianna Feehan, Armand Feehan, Abigail Feehan, Jason D’Amico and Jenna D’Amico as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. For online condolences, please visit us at www.abriola.com.
